For nearly 20 years, I’ve proudly served Maryville, Alcoa, and the people of Blount County and East Tennessee as a trusted Chapter 7 bankruptcy attorney. I know firsthand that financial stress takes a heavy toll—it can drain your health and strain your relationships with family and friends.
When the pandemic hit, I completely changed how I practice law right here in Maryville, Alcoa, and throughout Blount County—and I’ve never looked back. I’ve moved away from the traditional, high-overhead commercial law office to provide you with a more efficient, accessible experience.
Why My Approach is Different:
The Process:We keep things simple. Consultations and initial case reviews are handled by phone. Documents are easily managed via email, text, or mail. I use DocuSign for fast, secure signatures, and we’ll wrap up with a physical “wet ink” copy for your records.
Note: Bankruptcy filings require one mandatory Zoom meeting with the bankruptcy trustee. Because of this, you’ll need to be comfortable using basic technology (Zoom). If you are unable to manage Zoom independently, I may not be the right fit for your case.

For the past 20 years, this region hasn't just been where I practice law—it’s been home. From the landscape of the Smokies to the community in Maryville and Alcoa, I’ve built my life and my practice here. I believe that being a great local attorney means understanding not just the law, but the people who live and work here alongside me.
A Background Built on Empathy and Achievement
My path to law was shaped by a deep desire to help people navigate complex challenges. I earned my law degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law in Durham, where I was honored to receive the Anne Duncan Award for Academic Achievement in the Face of Significant Obstacles. This experience taught me that progress is rarely a straight line, a perspective I bring to every Chapter 7 bankruptcy case I handle.
Prior to my legal career, I earned a Master’s Degree in General Psychology from East Tennessee State University and taught psychology at the college level. That background gives me a unique lens on my legal practice; I understand that financial stress is about more than just numbers—it’s about the human experience behind those numbers. I don't just process paperwork; I listen to my clients.
Beyond the Office
When I’m not assisting clients, you’ll likely find me in my garden or at the easel. I’m a Bob Ross Certified Instructor, and I find great joy in teaching others the wet-on-wet painting technique—it’s a passion that, much like law, is about helping people find a fresh start and creative confidence. You can see my work over at www.paintwithbram.com. I’m also a lifelong dog lover and a devoted Bruce Springsteen fan. If you’re looking for an attorney who values authenticity, local roots, and a straightforward, no-nonsense approach to your financial future, let’s talk.
