Welcome. I appreciate you taking the time to check out my office in your search for financial freedom. Bankruptcy is a stressful process that can have an impact on your health and relationships with family and friends. My job is to make sure this process goes smoothly for you and restores balance back to your life.
When the pandemic hit, I changed how I work with clients—and I’ve fully embraced this new approach. I no longer meet clients in person or maintain a physical office. The only reason we might meet face-to-face is to sign paperwork you’ve already reviewed and signed digitally and that is typically just once. I also don’t wear traditional lawyer attire—most days, I’m in jeans and a t-shirt. At this point in my life, I can’t stand suits or ties. If that’s a dealbreaker, I may not be the attorney for you.
If you value your time and hard-earned money, though, I might be the perfect fit. By operating remotely and skipping the overhead of an office, I’m able to keep my fees much lower than most attorneys—many of whom charge $1,200 to $1,500 for routine Chapter 7 cases. My process is streamlined, efficient, and designed to save you both time and money.
Here’s how it works: all consultations are by phone. You won’t need to take off work, drive across town, or arrange childcare. We set a time, and I’ll call you—often in the evening, if that’s more convenient.
Paperwork can be sent via email, text, or mail. Payments are accepted by check, money order, cashier’s check, or PayPal/Venmo (bbevinslaw@gmail.com). Cash is fine too, but we’d need to meet briefly for that. Once everything is reviewed, signatures are handled through DocuSign, and you’ll mail back a physical “wet ink” copy for my records—or we can meet to sign in person.
You’ll have one mandatory Zoom meeting with the bankruptcy trustee. Because of that, you’ll need to be comfortable using basic technology. If you’re not able to manage Zoom on your own, I may choose not to take your case.
I earned my law degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law in Durham, where I was proud to receive the Anne Duncan Award for Academic Achievement in the Face of Significant Obstacles. I also hold a Master’s Degree in General Psychology from East Tennessee State University, and I’ve taught psychology at both the college and community college level.
On a personal note, I’m a big Bruce Springsteen fan and a lifelong dog lover. One of my passions is painting—I'm a Bob Ross Certified Instructor and love teaching people how to paint just like Bob. If you’re curious, you can check out my painting website at www.paintwithbram.com.
